Randall Gordon

January 12, 1941 — November 1, 2020

Randall Joe Gordon, 79, passed away on November 1, 2020, after a two-year battle with prostate cancer. Randall is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; his three daughters, Jill (David Bray), Jenny (Rob Olson) and Susie Chase (Michael Hendricks); his twin sister, Sandra Skierkowski; grandchildren Cameron Bray and Ashley Chase; his two nieces, Julie (Patrick Rule) and Tracy (Michael Smith); and many cherished friends. Randall was the President of Collins Gordon and Bostwick Architects at the time of his retirement in 2005.

People who knew Randall loved his infectious laugh and his enthusiasm for a good project. He was an architect through and through. He was constantly creating and drawing. After retirement he took up painting and enjoyed returning to something he had not done since college. Randall grew up in Anderson, Indiana, and after graduating from Anderson High School, attended the University of Cincinnati. Randall moved with Barbara and baby Jill to Cleveland, Ohio, in early 1967. His adopted home became the place where his career would flourish and the family would grow to include three girls. It takes a special man to raise three girls.

Even in sickness, Randall continued to create, plan, and dream. He had so many things he wanted to read, see, learn, and do. He loved to be outside in his garden; he loved to play tennis; he loved to play chess; he loved to travel; he loved art; he loved classical music, particularly the Cleveland Orchestra; he loved Chautauqua Lake; and he loved his family and they loved him. He will be missed by all who loved him. `

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Fairmount Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice in Randall’s memory.
