AMerican Veteran 11

Frank S. Harnichar

January 8, 1948 ~ June 9, 2020 (age 72)

Frank meant a lot of things to a lot of people. It is believed you’d have to live his life as he did, to truly understand the positive impact he had on people. And what inspired him daily to be a constant blessing to so many people. He had unyielding loyalty. He cherished all of life — meeting people, learning about them, listening to what they have to say, show, or even sing. He absorbed experiences and was diligent about showing up. Frank worked so hard. Every single day of his life. For 40 years Frank painted houses, doing physical labor, often working 3 jobs at a time. He had no retirement to show for it, no insurance policy. However, he was a very rich man in spirit. I can’t think of anything he loved more than his entire family and his friends.

He loved the radio, AM - Howard Stern - Sports radio. He loved music and had a massive record collection. He loved going to Ani DiFranco concerts, Jim Miller Band, Carlos Jones, Cain Park and Hessler Street Fairs. He loved coffee shops. He loved cards. He loved the arts. He loved sports. He absolutely loved Cleveland.

He went to as many events as he could — concerts, birthdays, clam bakes, meetings, outdoor festivals, sporting games, theater, UU functions, Salanis, bakeries, Stone Oven... He loved you all so very much.
Frank lived with values of how to treat people and just show-up. He knew what it meant to be the underdog. He harbored no ill will toward anyone and was the most unselfish man ever.

He was an absolute Saint. We were all so very lucky to have been blessed by such a wonderful, wonderful, JOYOUS man. May he forever ripple through our lives.

Frank was the beloved husband of Susan Cynthia Harnichar (nee Wheelwright); dear father of Frank S., III of Solon, OH; Michael A. and Katie W., both of Cleveland, OH; dear grandfather of Haley, Hannah, Frank S., IV and Beckett Gulley; dear brother of Paul H.
