Elizabeth Hasse

July 20, 1954 — October 1, 2019

Liz Hasse, 65, was pronounced dead in her residence on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in Kirtland. Liz was born on July 20, 1954 in Cleveland. Her parents were Rachel Protheroe Hasse and Adrian Homer Hasse. She grew up in Euclid, graduated from Vermont College and Wilmington College, then became a unit secretary on the adolescent psychiatric ward at the Cleveland Clinic until she retired from there and worked at Steris Corporation. From 1984 until present, Liz lived in Kirtland, OH where she enjoyed gardening and sowing love into every relationship she formed. She loved her family, friends, music and gardening. From childhood she attended First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland and was involved in the youth group and missions trips to Nicaragua.

She is survived by one brother: Dave Hasse of Peninsula, OH and one sister: Barb Hasse Kascsak (John) of Warren OH, 2 nieces: Monica Kascsak (Jose) Colon of Grove City, PA and Kim Kascsak Ragazzine (Dom) of North Jackson, OH, 1 nephew: John Kascsak Jr. (Rebecca) of Henrico, VA, 9 great-nieces and nephews: Leah Kascsak, Victoriana Colon, Xavier Colon, Sophia Kascsak, Aribella Colon, Nico Ragazzine, Liliana Colon, Enzo Ragazzine, and Adalina Ragazzine. Liz was preceded in death by her father: Adrian Homer Hasse and her mother: Rachel Protheroe Hasse.

She defined a pure, child-like love that saw the rest of humanity in the best light. She impacted so many family members, representing a wonderful type of “glue” that at times held the family together. Liz has always been fiercely loyal and dedicated to keeping family relationships eternal and remains unmatched in her dedication to beloved friends. She overcame many obstacles as she grew up and set such an example of spirit, courage and love. The earth has a huge void, but heaven has gained an incredible and precious asset. She is now back in her mom and dad’s arms, laughing and active with great joy.
