Thomas "Tommy" Rosegger

Thomas “Tommy” Rosegger, of Lakeland Florida, has passed away at the age of 62. He was born in Trenton, New Jersey to loving parents Gerhard and Clare Rosegger, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his siblings Karin Rosegger (Bob Delvalle), Michael Rosegger (Wendy), and Nora Workman (Mark); ex-wives Leslie Karnitschnig Rosegger and Lynne Carroll; his children Brian (Lindsay), Mikey, Morgan (David), Kati Alexander (Hunter), and Cloe Peddle (Trey) and his grandchildren Nova, Lennon, Bentley, and Reagan.

Tommy grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio where he first developed his interest in lakes, fisheries, music, machinery and motorcycles. He attended Case Western Reserve and John Carroll Universities, earning degrees in Biology and Aquatic Biology before moving to Lakeland, Florida. He spent the last 35+ years practicing lake and wetland management throughout Florida. An avid outdoorsman and nature enthusiast, he loved fishing for largemouth bass from his classic Ranger Bass boat.

A master mechanic and motorcycle enthusiast, he took great pride in rebuilding antique Harley Davidsons and building engines in his machine shop. A trumpeter and flugelhornist since grade school, “Tommy Tutone” played in marching bands, jazz trios, and blues bands as well as being a regular in Central Florida’s live music jam scene.

Tommy will be remembered for his kind spirit, his charming intellect, and his unwavering willingness to help all in need. A memorial service was recently held in Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the National Forests Foundation https://support.nationalforests.org/fundraiser/4045790  to plant trees in his memory.
