Sheila Marie LaFramboise

On the afternoon of August 19, 2026, Sheila Marie LaFramboise (nee Benson) died peacefully in Bedford, OH at the age of 85, surrounded by family. Sheila was born in Detroit to Arvid "Harvey" and Gertrude (nee Knittel). She earned a degree from Cleary College in Ypsilanti, MI and began her long career as a medical secretary, paused for several years while her four children were young. She was very active raising them in Livonia, MI, serving as PTA vice president and cub scout/girl scout leader. She had a passion for the performing arts, the Detroit Tigers, and volunteering, including teaching English to senior immigrants and work at Focus: HOPE in Detroit, among others. 

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judith Benson, her infant son Michael Joseph, and her former husband Tom LaFramboise. She is survived by her children Thomas (Sheryl Lee) of Shaker Heights, OH, Michele of Lorain, OH, Julie of Santa Clara, CA, and Mary Bourdrez (Joshua) of Shaker Heights; grandchildren Michael, Owen, Elise, Olivia, Grace, Jack, Luke, and Adam; and brother Daniel White. Sheila happily spent the last eight years of her life as a member of supportive community at Woodside Senior Living. The family would like to express deep appreciation for her wonderful caregivers at Woodside, including Erica, Sheyanna, Angela, Vanessa, Olivia, Shayla, and others.
