Sara Ann "Sally" McClain

SARA ANN ‘SALLY’ McCLAIN passed away July 5, 2019.  She was born to Harry H. McClain and Hanna Peer McClain in Erie, Pennsylvania. Sally graduated from Mercyhurst College and enjoyed a successful 46-year career at IBM in Cleveland.  Sally was a faith filled Catholic and a long-term member of Our Lady of Peace parish.  The Cleveland Sight Center was one of her favored charities benefiting from her frequent participation in fund-raising activities. She enjoyed socializing with her many friends and traveling the world. Her bright smile and infectious laughter were a joy to all who knew her. Sally was a valued employee at IBM.  She was a strong willed, independent woman, and a wonderful role model.

Sally was predeceased by her siblings James, William, Harry (Bud), and Mary McClain Galleher; and her dear friend Delos Nelson.  She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews and their families who will miss her very much.  A Funeral Mass will take place in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 12601 Shaker Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44120  (Two blocks west of Shaker Square) on Friday, July 19, 2019, at 10 AM.  FRIENDS WILL BE RECEIVED ONE HALF HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE AT THE CHURCH.  Interment will take place in Trinity Cemetery, Erie, PA. Those who wish may make donations in Sally’s name to the Cleveland Sight Center, 1909 East 101st St., Cleveland, OH, 44106 or to Judson Hospice, c/o Judson Retirement Living, 2181 Ambleside Dr., Cleveland, OH 44106.
