Robert Nils Gudbranson

Robert Nils Gudbranson, 90, of Cleveland, passed away on May 23, 2023 with his loving wife and family by his side.

Bob was born on October 8, 1932 in Camden, New Jersey. A graduate of Dartmouth College (BA, 1955) and Case Western Reserve University (LLB, 1961), Bob was an accomplished attorney and law firm partner (he retired just 5 years ago at 85!). In addition to his notable education and career, Bob was a Navy veteran, golfer, fisherman, and devoted husband. He lived a long and impressive life. Bob was a strong family patriarch and respected member of his community. He was an excellent host for personal and professional events alike and served on the board of 8 closely held corporations in the greater Cleveland area. It’s safe to say that Bob was well known and well liked — his presence will be sorely missed at family gatherings and beyond.

Bob is survived by his doting wife of 66 years, Nancy Gudbranson (née Nicola), daughter Margaret Gudbranson, sons Robert (Joon-Li Kim) and Bradford Gudbranson, granddaughters Emily Gudbranson and Kaitlin (Patrick) Stock (née Pethtel), grandson Nils Gudbranson, and great granddaughter Lydia Stock. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Margaret (née Routh) Gudbranson, parents-in-law Kenneth and Margaret (née Russell) Nicola, and son-in-law David Pethtel.
