RAYMOND M. "RAY" FREDMAN, Ph.D. died July 24th, 2009. He was the beloved husband of Betty nee Godfrey of Chagrin Falls, OH. and the dear brother of the late Arden Miller. Ray was a retired Professor of English for Cuyahoga Community College, Metro Campus. Ray was born in Illinois but grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He obtained his Bachelors of Arts degree in English from Augustana College, his Masters in English from Wayne State University in Detroit and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Ray's interest in theater began back in Wayne State University where he took theater courses in production and direction. Ray used those talents to work in over thirty productions in Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Cleveland. His love for the theater was displayed in other ways as well, such as his support and leadership for the Cleveland Play House and as a past President of the Men's Committee and as a member of the Board of Trustees. Ray was also formerly on the Board and served as a consultant for the Great Lakes Shakespear Festival. Ray was a past Lieutenant Governor of Division 15 of Kiwanis International and a former member of The Hermit Club. Ray was a 32nd degree Master Mason and past Master of Heights-Lion Heart Lodge #633, who will be presenting a Masonic Funeral Service Wednesday, July 29th at 7 PM at Brown-Forward Funeral Home, 17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH. Also, a Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 30th at 4 PM in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2747 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Hts., OH. BROWN-FORWARD SERVICE 216 752-1200
