Norma E. Rodgers (nee Eaton), 96, the beloved wife of 71 years of David A. Rodgers of Shaker Hts., OH and dear mother of Kathryn A. Rodgers and the late Linda Hurst.  Norma was the dear sister of Lois Gebing and the late Howard Eaton.  A graduate of the Collinwood Schools, Hiram College, and the Univ. of Chicago Divinity School, Norma was a Student Counselor at Stanford Univ. and the Univ. of Calif., Berkley, was active in church affairs and church music in many communities, and has been especially devoted to the improvement of Shaker Heights, where she served for twelve years as a City Councilwoman, as Vice Mayor, and as chair or member of numerous city committees or boards.  She volunteered for and served many public service groups, often as Board Member or President, including the League of Women Voters, Shaker Historical Society, Shaker Lakes Nature Center, YWCA, and Hiram College.  She was devoted to all.

The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to Hiram College, 11715 Garfield Rd., Hiram, OH 44234 or to Plymouth Church of Shaker Heights, 2860 Coventry Rd., Shaker Hts., OH 44120 where Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 30th at 11am.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Hiram, OH.  FRIENDS MAY CALL AT BROWN-FORWARD, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OHIO WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 29TH FROM 3-5 PM.
