Molly Lindblad

June 10, 1931 — June 10, 2015

Molly Osborne Lindblad passed June 10, 2015 after an extended illness, waiting to pass until the birth of her first great grandchild, Kinsley Harper Trefney.

Molly was born Molly Morris Osborne, youngest of 8 children of Francis M. Jr. and Florence Osborne. Molly was always proud of growing up on her father's farm on Lost nation Road during the depression. She was fond of saying "I was named after my father's favorite cow".

Molly graduated Mentor High as head cheerleader her senior year. One of her classmates we knew said that she was the prettiest, nicest girl at Mentor High. She continued her competitive streak that made her head cheerleader into her love for tennis, winning several club tournaments.

Molly always liked to tell people that she had worked at the Cleveland Clinic in its infancy. She married and had three children Lisa Van Curen, Paul Van Curen and David Van Curen.

Molly was born to be a mother. She never missed a sporting event, teacher conference or program. We always knew that our Mom would be there standing behind us supporting us in every aspect of our lives. Always quick to guide and give much advice, we could not have asked for a more perfect mother.

Molly enjoyed starting and running her own successful antique business for over 20 years, going to antique shows with her husband, Bill, and her grandchildren. Everybody knew and enjoyed her there. Molly showed her shrewd side when buying her inventory.

When Molly became a grandmother to Morgan, Matt and Molly Van Curen, she gave the same love, support and advice to them that she gave to her children. She loved to teach Morgan and Molly to cook and bargain shop. You could always hear her cheering from the stands and bringing her famous blueberry muffins to every one of Matt's wrestling matches. All three of her grandchildren inherited her spunk and love for life.

Later in life, Molly married the love of her life, Bill Lindblad. She and Bill traveled alone and with friends enjoying each other's company and experiences right to the end. They spent over 38 years together. Bill showed Molly the joy of what having a true partner in life could bring. Bill was faithfully by our mother's side caring for her and enjoying her through her long illness and battle.

Most of all, our mother enjoyed every day. She always put others' happiness in front of her own. She will be missed, her smile, her laugh and her guidance, more than what can be measured.

She is in a better place now joining her father (Doo-Dah), mother (Nee), sisters and brothers: Ann Coulton, Francis M. (Buddy) Osborne III, Florence Sykes, Jerome T. (Ace) Osborne, Martha Rand, Sally Cornell and Patsy (Beezy) Jones.

Molly Osborne Lindblad, age 84. Beloved wife of William S. Lindblad. Daughter of the late Francis M., Jr. and Florence Osborne. Mother of Lisa VanCuren (John Lombardi), Paul O. VanCuren (Julie Patton) and David R. VanCuren (Mary DiGeronimo). Grandmother of Morgan VanCuren-Trefney (Jacob Trefney), Matthew VanCuren and Molly VanCuren. Great grandmother of Kinsley Harper Trefney.

The family prefers that those who wish make contributions in her name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119. A Memorial Service will be held at Church of the Western Reserve, 30500 Fairmount Blvd., Pepper Pike, OH 44124 on Tuesday, June 23rd at 11 AM WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL AT CHURCH ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE FROM 10 TO 11 AM.
