Mary Ann Richardson (nee Kelly) age 84, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on September 14, 2021 at her home in Shaker Heights, Ohio. She was the first of four daughters born to Donald and Mary Kathryn Kelly in Buffalo, NY.
While attending Rosary Hill College, she met and later married the love of her life, George J. Richardson, with whom she recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Together, they built a beautiful life together in Buffalo and later in Shaker Heights.
Mary Ann began her career of helping others as a social worker and later carried that mission for many years as a caring and successful realtor. She was a long time devoted member of Church of St. Dominic in Shaker Heights and also St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples, FL. Mary Ann also loved volunteering at The Christ Child Society of Cleveland and the Carmelite Monastery. She was a bright light to so many others in recovery during the last 36 years.
Mary Ann enjoyed the outdoors and her time with friends at the pool at Thornton Park and Beachwalk Gardens in Naples, FL. She was an avid reader and a very loyal sister and friend.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband George J. Richardson, and her children Sean (Lisa) of Shaker Heights, Michael (Amy) of Bay Head, NJ, Kevin (Jill) of Shaker Heights, and Kathryn of Shaker Heights. She was a wonderful grandmother to Haley, Mackenzie, Kelsey (Kelsey Savoy), John, Caroline, Samantha, Lena and Christopher. Mary Ann is also survived by her sisters Judy (Charles) Manzella of Buffalo NY, Donna (Daniel) Gorman of Orchard Park, NY, and Nancy (Sean) Sullivan of Cold Spring Harbor, NY and also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
FRIENDS MAY CALL AT BROWN-FORWARD, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH 44120 ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH FROM 1 TO 3 PM AND FROM 5 TO 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of St. Dominic, 19000 Van Aken Blvd., Shaker Heights, OH 44122 on Wednesday, September 29th at 11 AM AND WHERE FRIENDS MAY ALSO CALL ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE. The Funeral Mass can also be viewed through a live stream link on https://www.stdominicchurch.net/worship/livestream. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that those who wish may make donations in Mary Ann’s name to The St. Dominic Endowment Fund.
