Mary Elizabeth Nook Huettner

Mary Elizabeth Nook Huettner of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away peacefully on September 20, 2022. Mary grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio where she attended Gesu School, Hathaway Brown School, and Shaker Heights High School. She was an accomplished figure skater and skated in many Carnivals at the Cleveland Skating Club.

Mary went on to attend Marymount College (now Marymount University) in Arlington, Virginia. She loved children and was a nursery school teacher for many years. She was also an active volunteer for several organizations including the Grove City Junior Chamber of Commerce Ladies Group (Treasurer), Fort Wayne Philharmonic Volunteers (Vice President), and Tri Kappa.

Mary was a long-time member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church as well as the former Summit Club and Pine Valley Country Club. She enjoyed figure skating, tennis and knitting and will be remembered for her love of fun and her infectious laugh.

Mary is survived by her three loving daughters, Lisa Rosenlund (Paul), Heather Harms (Gary) and Sarah May (Stephen); her siblings, Lois N. Sussen (Dan) and William K. Nook (Shirley); and four grandchildren, Ciara, Megan, Olivia and Parker. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph H. Nook, Sr. and Viola Knight Nook; her husband of 54 years, Donald E. Huettner, her daughter, Holly Huettner Keys, and her brother, Joseph H. Nook, Jr.

Contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46815.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Gesu, 2470 Miramar Blvd., University Heights, OH 44118 on Tuesday, September 27th at 10:30 AM. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT BROWN-FORWARD, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH 44120 ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 FROM 5 TO 7 PM. Interment All Souls Cemetery.  This service will be live streamed below.
