Mary Chilcote

Mary E. Chilcote was born May 29, 1920, in Newark, Ohio, to the late Harry E. and Nelle (Jones) Chilcote.

Miss Chilcote attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in English. She moved to Cleveland in 1946 to attend Western Reserve University where she received a master's degree in library science and a master's degree in English literature.

She worked as a reference librarian at Cleveland Public Library and eventually served as the head reference librarian at Ernst & Ernst.

She is survived by a niece and nephew-in-law, Cynthia A. Prior and James S. Gascoigne of Cleveland.

A private graveside service was held at Lake View Cemetery followed by a memorial service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The Reverend Richard C. Israel officiated.
