Marta Lindseth Jack

Marta Lindseth Jack, resident of Chagrin Falls, Ohio passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, two weeks shy of her 91st birthday.
Marta was married for 62 years to Donald MacLaren Jack, Jr., who passed away on January 29, 2023. Marta will be sadly missed by sons Craig (Brooke) of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Douglas  (Courtney) of Winnetka, Illinois. She was the grandmother of Derek, Seth, Max, Graham and Kirby; and sister of Jon Lindseth (Virginia) of Hunting Valley and the late Jo Busser (Robert) of Philadelphia, PA.
Marta was born in Cleveland on May 30, 1933 to Elmer Lincoln Lindseth and Anne Fluckey Lindseth.  The Lindseths moved first to Hudson, Ohio and then to Shaker Heights Ohio shortly after her birth. As a young girl, Marta became passionate about the outdoors (a Lindseth trait), going on fishing and canoe trips all over the US and Canada.  Marta graduated from Hathaway Brown School in 1951 and then obtained her undergraduate degree from Connecticut College in 1955.  After graduating from college Marta worked in New York City where she met Don.  They married on November 1, 1958, moved to Chicago in 1960, and then moved to Marta’s hometown of Cleveland in 1962, where they remained for the rest of their lives.
Marta passionately spent her time volunteering for local organizations such as the Garden Club and Children's Guild, and developed a “feisty side” while working on behalf of local consumers dealing with fraud at “Call For Action,” located in a local TV station.  Her code name was “Marta Tuttle,” and let’s just say her bulldog attitude paid off for every consumer she supported! Marta and Don were actively involved in the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Museum of Art; they also traveled the world extensively over the years.  She absolutely loved each and every English Cocker Spaniel they had: Angus, Chester, Henry, Winnie and then Daizy.
Marta loved life and will be remembered as one of the great characters of her generation.  Always with a quick smile, her sense of humor was infectious. This is how her friends and family will remember her.
Marta’s life will be celebrated in a private family event.
