Marilyn Merts Prasse died peacefully January 31, 2026, at age 90. Beloved wife of Paul Henry Prasse until his passing in 2024. Predeceased by her sister Eleanor Merts Clinger, their parents Grace Dyer and George Merts, and her niece Laura Anne Clinger.
Born August 4, 1935, Marilyn graduated from Laurel School and later served as a volunteer on many programs raising support for Laurel. She went on to graduate from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia before marrying Paul on June 23, 1962. Marilyn worked as a travel agent with Jensen Travelon in Chagrin Falls, becoming a trusted travel advisor and friend to many. Marilyn and Paul traveled the world, exploring the people, places and wonders that enrich us all. Back home, Marilyn served as chair in 1979 and again in 1981 of the Great White Elephant Sale for the benefit of the Cleveland Garden Center, now The Botanical Garden. She and Paul bought and operated the Ohio City Tavern for many years.
Marilyn is survived by her nieces and nephews: Lisa Clinger Rushmer, Brian Clinger, Michael Clinger, Cathleen Clinger, Christine Clinger Camelin, Michelle Clinger Robinson, and here in Ohio, Kent A. Stevenson, along with their children, and by many cousins across the country who treasure their time with and memories of Marilyn.
The family acknowledges and thanks her friends and caregivers at Beachwood Commons Assisted Living and Adoration Hospice. All services are private with entombment in Lake View Cemetery Mausoleum.
