On August 1st 2016, our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lydene Keim Rutter, went home to be with the Lord and left a legacy that will forever live on in the hearts of all the people she touched.
Lydene grew up in Lousiville, OH with her beloved mother, but often recalled found memories of spending childhood summers in the hills of West Virginia with her paternal grandparents. Lydene devoted her life to her family, friends, and church community. As an avid chef, Lydene selflessly served many friends and fellow members of the Plymouth Church community though her ministry of memorial service receptions. Lydene loved taking care of those around her (especially through the comfort of good old fashion home cooking) and never failed to light up the room while making others feel special.
A graduate of Purdue University majoring in Nutrition, Lydene worked in Washington DC during WWII while her beloved husband Cliff, whom she met in Shaker Heights, served in the armed forces. Lydene was a resident of Shaker Heights the majority of her life and a member of Plymouth Church for well over 60 years.
Lydene is preceded in death by her husband Clifford E Rutter and leaves behind her treasured children Kathy Henninger Fortunato of Cleveland, OH, John Keim Rutter of Shaker Hts., OH and Lisa Rutter Baka of Hudson, OH. She adored spending time with her grandchildren Thomas, Michelle and Timothy Henniger, Rita Cek, and Meghan and Daniel Baka. Lydene was also incredibly proud of her great grandchildren Leah Russell, Kaitlyn, Timothy, Riley and Tyler Henniger, and Thomas, Christina, Adrianna and Brayden Cek.
The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to Plymouth Church of Shaker Heights, 2860 Coventry Rd., 44120 (at Weymouth Rd.) where Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 6th at 1 PM.
Interment Lake View Cemetery.
