Louise Patno

March 15, 1927 — September 15, 2018

Louise Kundtz Patno beloved wife of the late Stanley C. Patno, Jr. Dear mother of Robert Patno (Rosemary) of Chagrin Falls, Oh., Gerald O. Patno (Cathleen) of Lakewood, Oh. (and his late wife Deborah), Karyn M. Patno, M.D. (Martin) of Wheelock, Vt., and Sheila P. England (Syd) of Kent, Wa. Children who predeceased her: Lisa, Anne and Mary. Beloved grandmother of Christine, Meghan, Kevin, Patrick, Michael, Danny, J. Michael, Katie, Allyson, Moses and Noah. Great-grandmother of Venture, Xavier and Andres. Dear sister of Ewald Kundtz (Tish), Andy Kundtz (Peggy) and David Kundtz (Bob).

Louise, affectionately known throughout her life as Weezie, was the first of four born to Ewald and Elizabeth (O’Neill) Kundtz  in Shaker Heights, OH, and graduated Hathaway Brown School, before heading off to Manhattanville College in NY City, where she majored in language studies, English and French.  After graduation from college, she returned home to Shaker Heights where she met and fell in love with her future husband, Stanley C. Patno, Jr.,  also of Shaker Heights, who had just graduated Georgetown University after completing his service in the U.S. Army during WWII.   Weezie and Pat, as Stanley was known, were blessed with seven wonderful children , whom she managed to nurture and raise despite several household moves to other states necessitated by Pat’s career.  Even with her many home-making responsibilities, Weezie became active in volunteer organizations like the Junior League and with the Catholic Church, to give back whenever she could, in addition to her hobbies: gardening, puzzles and bridge.  After stops in Miami and Winter Park, FL, and McLean, VA, Weezie and Pat came full circle and resettled in Cleveland/Chagrin Falls area as retired empty nesters, travelling, playing tennis at the Cleveland Racquet Club and enjoying their many friends and family members.

The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to Special Olympics Ohio, 3303 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232, or Catholic Relief Services, 228 W. Lexington St., Baltimore, MD 21201-3443. Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Resurrection, 32001 Cannon Road, Solon, OH 44139 on Friday, September 21 at 11 AM. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT BROWN-FORWARD, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH 44120 ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 FROM 5 TO 7 PM.
