Obituary

Louis, a beloved husband, father and devoted member of the Baháʼí community, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 30, 2026 at the age of 87, in Bedford, OH.

Born on March 24, 1939 in Memphis, Tennessee, Louis lived a life defined by service, dedication and an unwavering commitment to the values he held dear. He answered the call to serve his country with extraordinary distinction, retiring from careers in the United States Air Force, Navy and Army. Following his distinguished military service, Louis continued his dedication to public service as a civilian with the federal government until his retirement. His decades of service to the nation reflected a deep sense of duty and honor that defined his character throughout his life.

Louis was a man of lively intellect and passionate conviction. He loved nothing more than engaging in spirited debates about politics, challenging those around him to think critically and defend their views. His love of travel took him to destinations near and far, enriching his life with diverse experiences and broadening his already expansive worldview.

Louis was deeply devoted to the Baháʼí community, which held a profoundly special place in his heart.  His faith was central to his life, guiding his actions and bringing him great joy and purpose.  He carried its principles of unity, justice and service with him in all that he did.

Louis is survived by his loving wife, Ella Johnson-Allen; his sons, Tyler Allen and Todd Allen; his grandson, Jaden; and all those whose lives he touched through his warmth, conviction and generosity of spirit.

Funeral Services will be held inside Wade Chapel of Lake View Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH, on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 11am.

The family welcomes all who wish to honor Louis and celebrate a life lived with purpose, faith and boundless love.
