Linda Matthews Costello, age 73, passed away on September 15th, after a three year diagnosis of congestive heart failure, and further complications from a stroke she suffered in June that she never could recover from. She was born on November 5, 1945, at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland. She attended Julie Billiard School in Lyndhurst, and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1965. She lived in her childhood home in Gates Mills with her mother, Frances Ernst Costello, and continued to lovingly maintain their home for the proceeding 23 year following Frances' death in 1996. She is survived by her sisters, Diane and Cindy, and many cousins who remained and raised their children in the village also. They considered it their heaven on Earth, just as Linda had in the 73 years that she garnered joy and adulation from all of the ones who considered her their friend and angel. VISITING HOURS WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, OCT. 4, FROM 5-8 PM AT BROWN-FORWARD FUNERAL HOME, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD, SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH. The memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11:30 AM at St. Christopher by-the-River, 7601 Old Mill Rd, Gates Mills, OH. A reception will follow promptly after the service in the church Guild Room. In lieu of flowers, Linda expressed her wishes that a donation be sent to one of the following: St. Christopher's Church, The Jennings Rehab Center in Garfield Heights, The Gates Mills Historical Society, or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
