John Randall "Jack" Harris

John Randall Harris, affectionately known as “Jack” to his family and friends, passed away on August 13, 2026, at the age of 72. A devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, skilled craftsman, and loyal friend, Jack will be remembered for his generous spirit, remarkable ingenuity, and the quiet, steadfast way he cared for those around him.

Born on May 15, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, Jack was the son of the late Walter L. and Ruth E. Harris of Shaker Heights. His Cleveland roots remained an enduring part of his identity throughout his life, as did his unwavering loyalty to his beloved Cleveland Browns.

Jack possessed an extraordinary gift for understanding how things worked. A talented machinist, he learned his trade from his father, carrying forward not only a valuable skill but also a source of lifelong pride and personal satisfaction. His mechanical abilities seemed to know no bounds. Whether repairing something others had given up on, solving a seemingly impossible problem, or lending his expertise to someone in need, Jack approached every challenge with patience, determination, and a natural curiosity. To his family and friends, he was simply the person who could fix anything. More importantly, he was the person who could always be counted on to help. He gave freely of his time, talents, and knowledge, finding genuine pleasure in making life a little easier for others.

Throughout his life, Jack treasured the friendships he cultivated and the communities that became part of his story. His time at St. Andrew’s in Boca Raton, Florida, held a particularly special place in his heart. The friendships formed, memories shared, and experiences enjoyed there brought him great happiness and remained among the many blessings of a life well lived.

Yet, of all the things Jack accomplished and enjoyed, nothing meant more to him than his family. He and his beloved wife, Creek, shared 36 years of marriage, building a life rich in love, laughter, friendship, and cherished memories. Their years together were a testament to the enduring beauty of companionship and the countless small moments that make a life together so meaningful. Jack took immense pride in being a husband and father, and the love he had for his family was evident in all that he did.

In addition to his wife, Creek, Jack leaves behind his sons, Jack Harris (Beatrice) and TJ Harris (Grace); his daughter, Holly (Hugo); and his cherished grandchildren, Attia and Elias of Menlo Park, California. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim Harris (Lisa) of Whitefish, Montana; Terry Harris (Tonya) of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and Ron Harris of Lemon Grove, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bill and Rick.

Jack’s life was also enriched by a wonderful extended family, including numerous cousins and relatives, as well as many dear and longtime friends whose companionship he valued deeply. Each was an important part of his life, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Jack will be remembered not simply for what he could build or repair, but for the kindness behind every helping hand, the loyalty he showed those he loved, and the countless ways he made himself available to others. His was a life defined by devotion to family, pride in honest work, enduring friendships, and a willingness to give of himself without hesitation.

Although his presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the lessons he passed along, and the memories he leaves behind will continue to live in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
