Janet Dow Goodwyn

Janet Susan Goodwyn was born on April 15, 1946 in Mansfield, Ohio.  She was the loving daughter of the late Marion and Louise (Powell) Dow.    "Susie" as friends and family called her always said "Dad had to hurry home and finish his taxes".  Susie was quite the beauty with blond curly hair.  She  graduated from Crestline High School in 1964.  Susie received a Bachelor's degree in social work from Cleveland State and a MBA and a Master's degree in Social Services from Case Western Reserve University.  Susie gave birth to a daughter Elizabeth "Lisa" Ann Goodwyn on November 12, 1966.  Sadly she died in a car accident on November 10, 1985, two days before her 19th birthday.

Janet worked for the State of Ohio in various supervisory positions.  She enjoyed volunteering as an elementary school tutor, in the clown ministry with her own costume and for the Red Cross on fire runs.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lisa Goodwyn, brother -in-law James Eckenrode and infant nephew Marion Eckenrode.  She is survived by her sister, Helen Eckenrode of Shelby, OH; two nephews, Dr. Gregory Eckenrode (Adrianna  Bardnello) of Stamford, CT, Mark Eckenrode (Dr. Heather Gotha) and daughters Elliott and Alexandra.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 31st at 11 am in Brown-Forward, 17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH 44120 WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 10AM TO 11AM.  Interment will follow in Whitehaven Cemetery, Mayfield, OH.
