Jane Guthrie

July 12, 1926 — April 8, 2018

JANE M. GUTHRIE was the beloved mother of Deborah M. Kuehm (Kenneth) of Aurora, OH and Patricia M. Guthrie of Crested Butte, CO.

She was the dear grandmother of Michael E. and Britney E. Kuehm and Blake Guthrie Rausch and the dear half-sister of Homer Marshman (Cheryl) of Palm County, FL.

Jane was beloved by many and all who knew her. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, her family moved several times until settling on Wellington Rd. In Cleveland Heights where she made life-long friends and attended Laurel School, graduating in 1944.

Jane married three times; first to Jack Barker of Cleveland, next to Leads Frye of Salem, Ohio during which Debbie Kuehm was born, then to Warren Guthrie of Cleveland, to whom Patricia was born.

Jane worked at Shaker Gifts on Shaker Square, then as an interior decorator at Higbee's, until she received her real estate license and worked at Hacket and Arnold.

Jane served her beloved Cleveland community through serving on many committees with The Junior League of Cleveland, she was a driver for patrons of the Cleveland Society for the Blind, and used her artistic talents to support children in need at the Children's Guild.

Over her rich and full life, Jane greatly enjoyed gardening, playing golf, bowling, bridge and entertaining her friends and family. She was a gourmet self-taught cook. Always "dressed to the nines" she brought a smile to everyone she met.

As a daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, she brought smiles and laughter to us all and strived to support us unconditionally in all of our life choices.

The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to The Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center, 11635 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44106; the Cleveland Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113 or Laurel School, 1 Lyman Circle, Shaker Hts., OH 44122.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Unitarian Church of Cleveland, 21600 Shaker Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH 44122 on Saturday, May 26th at 11 AM. A reception will follow the service.
