Edward McAfee was born January 4, 1955 in Cleveland, OH to the late Edward McAfee, Sr. and the late Rosemary Alice (nee Sweeney) McAfee.
He died peacefully in Chagrin Falls, OH on October 28, 2021 after a long illness.
Eddie attended Rutgers University after graduating from Shaker Heights High School. As a student in the Shaker Heights School System, he not only excelled in high school, but also at Woodbury Junior High and Ludlow Elementary schools.
While working as a teenaged golf caddy for the Shaker Heights Country Club, Eddie cultivated a love for golf that lasted throughout his life. Eddie was well known among local amateur golfers for being able to easily and regularly drive the ball for more than 300 yards, which was unusual for a man of his size.
Eddie was kind hearted and good natured. He had an infectious smile that complemented his pleasant demeanor. He was shy, but friendly. He found joy in reading and listening to different music genres.
Eddie leaves to mourn his sister, Marva Jones, of Plain Coast, FL; long-time friends, Donna Melaragno and Schott Mars; a close cousin, Brian McAfee; and other relatives and friends. A sister, Patricia McAfee, preceeded him in death.
A Celebration of Eddie's life will be publicly streamed virtually from Brown-Forward Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 5th at 2 o'clock PM. To view the service virtually, or a recording of the service, please click the link below.
