DONALD EVAN HUETTNER, 77, a longtime resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016. Born in Gary, Indiana to the late Analie and Donald W. Huettner.
Don graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1956 and went on to graduate from John Carroll University in 1960 with a degree in History. Don worked for General Motors for 32 years. He was on the Honorary Council of AC Delco a Division of General Motors and also received many sales awards during his career. He had a passion for reading and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Golf Club and Pine Valley Country Club. Don loved his alma mater and was a member in The President's Council of John Carroll University. Don was the beloved husband of Mary N. Huettner (nee Nook); loving father of Lisa Rosenlund (Paul) of Belvedere, CA; Heather Harms (Gary) of Culleoka, TN and Sarah May (Stephen) of Mobile, AL. Grandfather of Ciara Dolan, Megan Harms, Olivia Rosenlund, Parker May and step-grandchildren Betsy Rosenlund, Jenny DeCicco (Kyle) and Leslee Malone (J.D.); dear brother to David Huettner (Sue), Linda DeOreo, Timothy Huettner, M.D. (Debbie), Christine Williams (David) and John Huettner. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Huettner Keys of Chicago, IL.
The family prefers contributions in his name in lieu of flowers to John Carroll University, 1 John Carroll Blvd., University Heights, Ohio 44118.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 23 in The Church of The Gesu, 2470 Miramar Blvd., University Heights, Ohio 44122. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT BROWN-FORWARD, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22ND FROM 6-8 PM.
