Conna Whitmore

Conna S. Whitmore (nee Schwind) The beloved wife of the late Harold H. “Bud” Whitmore, dear mother of Kathleen Schwind Whitmore and Paul C. Whitmore (Lynne), and the dear grandmother of Neil. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard and David Schwind. She was born May 13th, 1932 and passed away April 30th, 2026. She grew up in Grafton, OH on a 2,500-chicken farm and was the first woman to graduate with an Economics Degree from Oberlin College in 1954. She was also an accomplished equestrian barrel rider with her horse, Stoney.

Conna was a Girl Scout leader for 12 years. She loved music and especially playing the grand piano. She loved the theater and the Cleveland Orchestra. Her love of cooking allowed her to become quite proficient at English dishes. Conna had a lifelong deep affection for all animals.

Conna and Harold were members for 44 years of the Wally Byam Airstream Club and wintered in their trailer for six months every year in Dade City, Florida.

Conna was a longtime member and past Deacon of Fairmount Presbyterian Church, a member of the church’s Couples Club, and Women’s Club who made Peanut Brittle every year at Christmas time.

The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3 Summit Park Dr., #550, Independence, OH 44131 or Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 2757 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Hts., OH 44118, where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 20th at 2pm.
