Chris Moore, age 53, went home to Glory on February 20, 2009. Chris Moore was born and raised in Shaker Heights, OH March 20, 1955to Mary Anne nee Findlay and Jay P. Moore. He attended Shaker Schools through 5th grade and then transferred to University School for Boys, graduating from there in 1973. At University School he lettered in Track and Swimming, was a thesbian Midsummer's Night Dream among others, wrote and directed The Wizard of US, a light hearted spoof of the school and his favorite teachers based on his favorite movie "The Wizard of Oz", founded the Humor Association HA, emceed the annual Variety Show - a distinction later shared by both of his sons, Michael '01 and Tom '03, and had the same homeroom teacher Richard Peyser as his father and older brother, Jay D. Moore. Following high school, Chris attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he took advanced calculus courses "for fun". He graduated with a B.B.A. Bachelors of Business Administration in 1977. At SMU he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, where he served as historian and pledge trainer. He was very active in intramural sports and once beat his instructor at hand ball. Chris later received an MBA from Case Weatherhead School of Management 1983 Chris met his wife, Tracie nee Blackwell, on a blind date at college and they married on March 25, 1978. Together, they lived peacefully in Warrensville Heights for 1 ½ years before buying a home in Cleveland Heights, where he resided until his death. Chris Moore was first vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. He had overseen the Bank's financial services, which included cash processing, check clearing, electronic payments, and savings bond processing. He also oversaw related support functions, such as information technology services, financial management, human resources, protection, and facilities. Mr. Moore joined the Bank in 1977 as an assistant examiner in the Supervision and Regulation Department. He was appointed vice president in 1988, and in 1996, he was appointed senior vice president in charge of the Bank's Supervision and Regulation, Data Services, and Credit Risk Management Departments. He was appointed to his most recent position in March 2003. During his career with the Bank, Chris has served in a number of Federal Reserve System leadership positions. He was the vice chairman of the Federal Reserve System's Conference of First Vice Presidents and a member of the Conference of Presidents' Committee on Credit and Risk Management. Chris was on the "Strong Families = Successful Children" Vision Council of United Way Services of Cleveland. He served on the board of directors of Recovery Resources of Cleveland, and was a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2002. He was also a director and president of the United States Curling Association. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Chris held a B.B.A. in finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and an MBA in banking and finance from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He was an avid curler, competing at the national level and in the trials for the 1992, 1998 and 2002 Olympic Games. Chris was the father of Michael W. Moore of Duluth, MN and Thomas M. Moore of Washington, DC. He was a brother to Jay D. Moore, Barbara A. Affinito Neil of Phoenix, AZ and Gary P. Moore of St. Paul, MN. He was also survived by Marty G. Moore, niece Carrie Van Moore and Nephew Samuel D. Moore. Chris is also survived by niece Rachel Ann Bruder. He is predeceased by his nephew Jeremy Bruder, and his parents, Jay P. and Mary Anne Findlay Moore. He is also survived by loving mother and father-in-law William E. and Jan B. Blackwell, Carl R. and Leslie B. Oliver, R. Boyd and W. Rust Oliver.
