CAROLE ANN MOORE (nee Weaver) passed away on July 14, 2018. Beloved wife of Jeffrey, mother of Jennifer Jacobs (Tamara) and Douglas, dear sister of Nikki Tschantz (deceased), aunt of David Tschantz and Rodney Bogucki (deceased), step-mother of Jason Jacobs and Lisa Jacobs.
Carole was born in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Eugene and Lurlene Beatty Weaver on April 15, 1944. She attended the Mansfield City Schools and graduated from Mansfield Senior High School as a member of the Class of 1962. She attended Bowling Green State University, graduating in 1966 with a Bachelor's Degree in English and earned a Master's of Library Science degree from Case Western Reserve University.
Carole was a librarian at West Junior High School and Milkovich Middle School in Maple Heights before taking a similar position at Brady Middle School in the Orange City School District in Pepper Pike. She served as Library/Media Specialist at Brady and at Orange High School and was Orange's leader of libraries and instructional media and was appointed to a state panel charged with setting new instructional standards. In addition, she was involved in establishing INFOhio, the state's virtual PreK-12 library, which used existing school telecommunications infrastructure to automate library services and to provide Ohio's students access to electronic resources. Carole was also the Orange Schools' Communications Coordinator when she founded the Orange Alumni Association to which she continued to dedicate much time and effort after her retirement from the Orange Schools in 2001.
Carole loved her family and her home. Throughout her life, she pursued a wide variety of intellectual and artistic passions including reading gardening, cooking, quilting, sewing, photography, painting, drawing, decorating, and music. People who visited her home would marvel at the flowers that she planted and cultivated. Her son, Doug, shared her love for plants and gardening. Carole was a constant source of inspiration, support and love to her entire family.
