Carol Frerichs

February 4, 1941 — November 18, 2014

Carol Ann Frerichs was born in Brewster, Ohio in 1941 and passed away on November 18, 2014. She was the daughter of Edgar and Corenne Peters. Carol was a beacon of light. She would light up any room with her outgoing personality and with the engaging quality she had with people. Carol was very compassionate and caring of others. It was no surprise that she attended Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio to become a registered nurse. Carol went on to work at the McDonald House of University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio.

She touched the lives of so many people with her positive mindset. Carol loved spending time with her husband, Donald and their children, Brian and Scott. Carol and Donald loved supporting their children through their education and sports affiliations. Carol was an avid supporter of the Shaker Heights High School ice hockey program. Her mentoring was always positive. No matter if it was home or away, win, lose or draw she always hugged her kids on the way off the ice. Carol would get the award for number one fan and hugger hands down.

Carol loved to travel for sports tournaments and with Donald on his business trips. She easily visited half of the United States as well as Australia, England, France, Venezuela and numerous Caribbean Islands to mention a few places. She loved going to Playhouse Square and also enjoyed theatre organ concerts at Grays Armory. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bridge.

Her pride and joy was her family: Donald and her sons and their beautiful grandchildren and her extended ice hockey family.

Carol was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, mentor and friend. She was a wonderful person who left everyone she touched better off for having known her. She will be greatly missed.

Carol A. Frerichs (nee Peters, nee Nolan). Beloved wife of Donald K. Frerichs. Dear mother of Brian L. Frerichs (Susan) of Bath, OH and Scott J. Frerichs (Miko) of Nashua, NH. Dear grandmother of Harper C., Ryden I. and Hollis B.

Funeral Services will be held at Brown-Forward, 17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH 44120 on Saturday, November 29 at 11 AM WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 3-5 PM ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28.
