A retired teacher’s aide and beloved cafeteria worker at Cardinal Stritch, Bridget devoted her career to nurturing children, fostering their growth with an unwavering commitment that mirrored the depths of her own maternal heart. Her engaging spirit translated effortlessly into her role at BCS schools in Oak Harbor, Ohio, where she fondly embraced her identity as a “lunch lady,” bringing joy and nourishment to countless young souls.
In every sense of the phrase, Bridget was a ball of fire—a dynamic personality who radiated energy and enthusiasm. She thrived in the kitchen, crafting heartfelt meals that drew her family together, facilitating those cherished moments that linger in the annals of memory. Driving her children to sporting events, she not only transported them but infused their experiences with her effervescent encouragement. A diligent overseer of her household, Bridget kept the laundry flowing, ensuring that her home was a sanctuary of comfort and warmth.
Her dedication to children extended beyond her professional life; Bridget was an avid supporter of youth activities and sports, always cheering for those around her as they ascended and developed. With a love for the beach and a passion for reading, she savored life’s simple pleasures, embodying a spirit of joy that inspired all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Bridget's educational journey culminated in her high school diploma from North High in Eastlake, Ohio, yet her thirst for knowledge and personal growth never waned. She attained the proud title of Reiki master, showcasing her commitment to healing and her passionate belief in the interconnectedness of all beings.
Bridget leaves behind a loving family who will carry her spirit forward. She is survived by her children: Martin Sam Golnick, who is accompanied by his spouse Kelly Jo Golnick; Alison Sara Wolf; and John Patrick Michael Schaming. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Emily Wolf, Grace Wolf, Phoenix Meek and her spouse Kevin Meek, and Elisha Bridinger. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Henry Neal, Owen Neal, Elliot Bridinger, and the late Aria Bridinger, who departed this life in January 2021.
In the tapestry of her life, Bridget is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Theresa Golnick, who shares in matrimony with Perry Golnick, and John "Jack" Schaming. She also held deep connections with special relationships, including Christine Berry and William “Bill” Berry, as well as Laurel Perram and Rory Perram, and Bill Wood and Lisa Wood.
Bridget was also predeceased by her beloved husband Eugene Golnick, her father John D. Schaming, and her mother Lusetta "Pat" Schaming, who laid the foundation upon which her vibrant life blossomed.
A celebration of her extraordinary life will be held at a date and time to be determined, allowing all who loved her to gather and honor the impactful legacy of Bridget C. Golnick—a radiant soul who nurtured not only her family but also everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
