Brian Michael Frew

Brian Michael Frew, age 50, was born October 1, 1975, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where he lived with his parents, Tom and Dawn Frew. Brian graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1994, where he was a dedicated athlete, participating in baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling. Brian went on to attend Miami University, graduating in 1998 with a degree in education. After briefly teaching school for six months, he realized his true calling was in public service and chose to pursue a career in law enforcement. He attended and graduated from the police academy and began his career with the Chagrin Falls Police Department. He later continued his service with the Bainbridge Police Department, where he served his community with dedication and integrity for 23 years.

Brian was a longtime resident of Lyndhurst, where he shared his life with his beloved companion, Lynette Brickman, until his sudden passing on March 12, 2026. Brian is survived by his father, Tom Frew; his brother, Chris Frew, and sister-in-law, Cecilia Frew; his nieces, Elizabeth and Catherine; his Aunt Suzanne Frew; and cousin Diane Wooster (James). He was preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Frew; his grandparents, Wesley and Elizabeth Ann Frew of Parsons, Kansas, and Stanley and Edith Woodhead of England; and his uncle Mike Frew.

Brian was a man who lived with quiet strength and an open heart. As a police officer, he dedicated his life to protecting others. Brian never judged people. No matter who someone was or where they came from, he believed everyone deserved a chance. He had a way of seeing the good in people and would go out of his way to help someone who needed it. Whether he was wearing his uniform or simply being a friend, Brian made people feel safe, respected, and understood. Brian was a protector, a friend, and a man who loved with his entire heart. He will be deeply missed, but the goodness he brought into the world will continue through the memories and lives he helped shape. His courage, humility, and compassion are a legacy that will not be forgotten.
