Alice Ullery Palda

Alice Ullery Palda, a beloved mother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at Judson Manor in Cleveland, Ohio, in the presence of her devoted son, Christopher. Born on February 24, 1942, in Trotwood, Ohio, Alice lived a life filled with creativity, kindness, and an unwavering love for the arts and her family.

Alice's educational journey began at Trotwood Madison High School, followed by her studies at Lake Erie College, where she majored in Theatre Arts. Her passion for the performing arts led to her first job with Young Audiences of Greater Cleveland, where she worked tirelessly in arts management, scheduling programs that introduced the joys of theatre to youth in inner-city schools. This career not only showcased her commitment to nurturing young minds but also provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with intriguing and remarkable performers throughout her life.

In the mid-1960s, Alice met her husband, Leo Charles Palda, while working at Karamu House Performing Arts Theatre. Their instant connection blossomed into a loving marriage, and they welcomed their only son, Christopher, into the world in 1971. As a mother, Alice was a nurturing and loving presence, always encouraging her son's interests and sharing her deep appreciation for the arts. Christopher fondly recalls the many theatre performances they attended together, moments that solidified their bond and brought joy to both their lives.

Alice's personality was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness, creativity, and an outgoing spirit. She found happiness in reading, performing, playing the piano, and immersing herself in the world of music. Her artistic flair and loving nature shone brightly in every endeavor she pursued, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Alice leaves behind her beloved son, Christopher Palda, and her sister, Evelyn Haney. She is welcomed into eternal rest by her husband, Leo Charles Palda; her sisters, Helen Valcanoff and Evelyn; and her parents, Harley and Gladys Ullery, who will forever watch over her.

As we remember Alice Ullery Palda, let us celebrate her legacy of love, creativity, and compassion. She enriched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she touched, reminding us all of the profound difference one loving soul can make in the world.
